A Testament to Partnership and Progress: AID Lebanon and LAU Medical Centers Strengthening Bonds for a Healthier Future

At AID Lebanon, we are committed to forging and nurturing partnerships that drive positive change and bring high-quality medical services to those who need them most. One such partnership that stands as a beacon of hope and progress is our collaboration with the Lebanese American University (LAU) Medical Centers and the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine. This partnership is more than just a collaboration; it is a promise to the people of Lebanon—a promise to continue and expand our efforts through initiatives like the LAU Mobile Clinic and the AID Medical Mission.

We are excited to announce that two new AID Medical Missions are scheduled to begin in October, as we plan for more for the year bringing much-needed healthcare services to underserved communities across Lebanon. These missions are a testament to our unwavering commitment to improving the health and well-being of the Lebanese population, regardless of their socioeconomic status.

In addition to these missions, we are eagerly anticipating our annual 3rd annual Breast Cancer Symposium in October in addition to many more throughout the year. This event is a cornerstone of our partnership with LAU, where we will be providing free mammograms to a number of women across Lebanon, ensuring that early detection and preventive care are accessible to all. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Tamina Elias Rizk for her tireless efforts in helping organizing this critical event. Her dedication to advancing healthcare in Lebanon is truly inspiring, and her hard work has been instrumental in making this symposium a reality.

Our partnership with LAU extends beyond these immediate initiatives. As Dr. Ramy Touma Sawaya, a key figure in AID Lebanon's Student Medical Committee, eloquently put it:

"As AID Lebanon's Student Medical Committee, we aim to use our medical education to give back to our community. Our ultimate mission is to support the Lebanese population by offering free, high-quality medical services to those who may find it difficult to achieve. By calling for student and professional volunteers, educational support from certified partner NGOs, and with our partnership with the Lebanese American University and its esteemed medical centers, our AID Medical Missions have found great success in achieving this goal.
By offering opportunities for live patient contact and first-hand experience, the medical mission also boasts academic benefits and improvement of medical education to student volunteers from different medical schools in Lebanon. Moreover, our various hybrid symposiums and webinars tackle a wide array of medical, societal, and humanitarian topics such as breast cancer, sickle cell disease, obesity, community service, and more. Participants from around the country can hear different national and international opinions, ask questions, and discuss and debate with renowned speakers and physicians."

This partnership not only enhances the quality of healthcare in Lebanon but also enriches the educational experience of medical students, providing them with invaluable hands-on experience and exposure to real-world medical challenges. Together, we are building a future where healthcare is accessible to all and where the next generation of medical professionals is equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to make a lasting impact.

As we look forward to our upcoming missions and symposiums, we remain steadfast in our commitment to expanding our collaboration with LAU. Together, we will continue to work towards a healthier, stronger Lebanon—one where every individual has access to the care they deserve.

Thank you to everyone involved in this journey, particularly our partners at LAU and the dedicated members of AID Lebanon's Student Medical Committee. Your passion, dedication, and hard work are the driving forces behind our success, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration and progress.
