Boston, Massachusetts – July 27, 2024 – Aid Lebanon’s Cedars Executive Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the process of electing a President and CEO for the upcoming term is now underway. As the current term approaches its conclusion on August 5, 2024, the Board is committed to ensuring a seamless transition of leadership should a new leader be elected to continue the organization’s mission of providing critical disaster aid and support to the communities of Lebanon.
In a strategic move to foster greater stability and continuity in leadership, the Cedars Executive Board has unanimously decided to extend the length of the presidential and CEO term from two years to four years. This change will take effect on August 6, 2024, and is expected to provide the incoming leadership with an extended timeframe to implement long-term strategies and initiatives that align with Aid Lebanon’s goals.
Nehme Gerges Melhem, the current President and CEO, has been instrumental in driving Aid Lebanon’s efforts to provide healthcare, mental health support, shelter, and food security to those in need. His leadership has significantly contributed to the rebuilding of Beirut and the well-being of countless families affected by the devastating explosion in August 2020.
The Board is dedicated to selecting a leader who embodies the values and vision of Aid Lebanon, ensuring the continuation of impactful programs and the introduction of innovative solutions to address the evolving needs of the community.
